- Future Strategy Division
- Future Strategy Division mainly operates three departments: Research & Business Development, Market Data Business, and Index Business. Future Strategy Division was launched in September 2024 as an independent division group for the purpose of diversifying the revenue streams of the Korea Exchange (hereinafter the "KRX") in response to rising competition against Alternative Trading System (hereinafter the "ATS") and upcoming global exchange business trends where exchanges are shifting away from dependence on trading fees.
- Advancing the market data business process (i.e. data production, processing, and distribution)
- Future Strategy Division oversees the overall market data business, including the data governance establishment and the sale of real-time market price and other various historical market data. Technology is being developed at a record pace and the importance of data is only increasing. In order to provide highly reliable data to our clients, the KRX is making its efforts to advance the entire value chain that ranges from data production to distribution.
- Developing and generating indices that serve diverse market demands
- Since its first announcement of stock indices based on the "Adjusted Stock Price Average" in 1964, the KRX has generated various indices including KOSPI, a key index that represents the Korea stock market, KOSPI 200, KOSDAQ 150, and the KRX 300. Moreover, the KRX has been generating and releasing multiple other stock indices, derivatives/general commodities indices, Bond indices, multi-asset, global, and customized indices.
- Exporting the KRX's innovative IT infrastructure
- Future Strategy Division is in charge of exporting the KRX's advanced IT infrastructure. With this, the KRX has made significant contribution to the modernization of many emerging countries' capital markets, and the KRX is also offering system operation consulting services and training program to foster IT skilled workers.
