If an administrative issue falls under the delisting criteria by failing to clear the situation which caused its designation as administrative issue, or if an issue falls under the dissolution situation without being designated as administrative issue, then the KRX delists the securities issued by the listed corporation. In this case, the exchange may allow the securities to be traded for 7 days to provide the shareholders with the last opportunity to liquidate the securities, which is called Liquidation Issues.
Liquidation issues are traded through 14 periods of 30 -minute single price auctions in a day to minimize the investment risk due to the sudden price fluctuation. Also, the daily price limits are not applied considering that the trading is the last trading opportunity allowed only for a short period and the liquidation value of the issue may varies depending on viewpoints.
